Lux Phone provides fast, affordable mobile repair for Sydney customers from our walk-in shop in Auburn. iPhone, Samsung, iPad, Pixel — same-day service, 6-month warranty, free upfront quote, no appointment needed.
We are an Auburn-based mobile repair shop serving customers from across Sydney. Most repairs are done while you wait. Every job comes with a written quote upfront and a 6-month warranty afterwards. Sydney customers travel to us from the CBD, North Sydney, Inner West and Western Sydney because the price, the speed, and the warranty add up.
A cracked or shattered screen is the most common phone repair we handle. iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, or any Android device — we replace screens with high-grade panels and have most phones back to you within 30 to 90 minutes. iPhone Pro and Samsung foldable repairs take longer because the parts are more complex. Every screen repair comes with our standard 6-month warranty.
Sydney pricing: iPhone screen replacement is $99 flat, all models — iPhone 7 through 16 Pro Max, no per-model ladder. Samsung and iPad screens are quoted free during diagnostic.
If your phone drains before the day is over or shuts down unexpectedly, a battery replacement can restore full performance. Lithium batteries lose capacity over time as they age, usually after a couple of years of daily use. We stock batteries for all popular models and complete most replacements quickly while you wait.
Sydney pricing: battery replacement is $99. Samsung and iPad batteries are quoted free during diagnostic.
Dropped your phone in water? Time matters. Bring it to our Auburn shop as soon as possible — ideally within 24 hours. Do not try to power it on. Do not put it in rice (it does not work). We offer free water damage diagnosis and use professional ultrasonic board-cleaning to recover water-damaged phones. Success rate is highest when treated within 24 hours.
The diagnostic is free; you only pay if we can repair it and you approve the quote.
Loose charging cable? Phone not recognising the charger? We repair and replace USB-C and Lightning charging ports for all phone brands. Often the port just needs cleaning — a few minutes job. If the connector is worn or bent, we replace it. Charging port repair is $79.
We also handle camera repairs, speaker issues, microphone problems, back glass replacement, software troubleshooting, and Face ID / Touch ID issues on iPhone.

Bring it in as fast as possible — within 24 hours if you can. Do not power it on. Do not put it in rice. We open the device, ultrasonically clean the boards, and quote based on what we find. Diagnosis is free.

Our iPhone pricing is simple and flat — no per-model ladder. iPhone screen replacement is $99 for every model from iPhone 7 to iPhone 16 Pro Max. Battery replacement is $99. Charging port, camera, power button, home button and water repairs are $79. The diagnostic is always free.
| Model range | Price | Time |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone 7 through iPhone 16 Pro Max | $99 flat, all models | Usually 30–60 min |
Same flat price whether you have a standard iPhone or a Pro Max. We tell you exactly which part your repair uses before starting, and the 6-month warranty covers parts and workmanship.
| Repair | Price | Time |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone battery replacement (all models) | $99 | Usually 30–60 min |
If your iPhone shows a "Service" warning under Battery Health, or shuts down unexpectedly, it is time. We replace the battery and it is back to you the same day, usually within 30 to 60 minutes.
Samsung repairs are priced differently from iPhone because Samsung uses laminated AMOLED panels even on mid-range models, and foldables (Z Flip, Z Fold) require specialised tools and sometimes Samsung-only parts. Because the part needed varies by model and condition, we quote Samsung repairs free during the diagnostic — bring your phone in or message us with the model and we will give you an exact price upfront.
Green lines / pink lines on display: A common Galaxy AMOLED defect. We replace the screen assembly. Often happens on the S and Note series. Same-day in most cases — quoted free during diagnostic.
Charging port worn out: Common on Galaxy A series and older S series where USB-C connectors degrade with daily plug-in. Charging port repair is $79. Often takes under an hour.
S Pen not detecting: S Pen issues on Note and S Ultra series can be the digitizer (built into screen) or the S Pen itself. We diagnose for free and quote whichever component is faulty.
Fingerprint sensor failure: Galaxy under-display fingerprint sensors fail more often after a screen replacement done with low-grade aftermarket parts. We use parts that maintain ultrasonic fingerprint compatibility.
iPad pricing depends heavily on the model and whether the glass is laminated to the display, so we quote iPad repairs free during the diagnostic rather than guess a figure. Bring your iPad in or message us with the model and we will confirm an exact price upfront.
iPad Pro repairs take longer because the displays are fully laminated to the frame, ProMotion adds layers of complexity, and removing the battery without damaging the logic board requires extra time. Most iPad jobs take longer than phone jobs because the adhesive is industrial-grade and the panel is fragile.
Many Sydney customers ask us how our pricing and turnaround compare to Apple's authorised service or Samsung's service centres. The honest answer:
| Aspect | Apple Service Centre | Lux Phone Auburn |
|---|---|---|
| Screen price | Out-of-warranty Apple service is typically much more expensive | $99 flat, all iPhone models |
| Turnaround | Often several business days (mail-in for most models) | Same-day, usually 30–60 minutes |
| Parts | Genuine OEM only | Genuine OEM or high-grade aftermarket (your choice) |
| Warranty | Apple service warranty | 6 months |
| Data risk | Sometimes wipe required | Data preserved unless you request wipe |
For phones still under AppleCare or with an unusual logic-board issue, Apple is the right choice. For everyday repairs (cracked screen, dead battery, charging port), an independent repair is typically much cheaper than out-of-warranty Apple service and far faster.
| Aspect | Samsung Service | Lux Phone Auburn |
|---|---|---|
| Screen price | Out-of-warranty Samsung service is typically much more expensive | Quoted free during diagnostic, then a fixed upfront price |
| Turnaround | Often several business days | Same-day in most cases |
| Locations | Limited number across Sydney metro | Auburn (Western Sydney), train accessible |
| Warranty | Samsung service warranty | 6 months |
YouTube tutorials make phone repair look easy. The reality, after years of fixing other people's DIY attempts:
Honest summary: a simple battery on an old phone — maybe DIY. Anything modern with curved glass, water resistance, Face ID, or a foldable hinge — bring it to a professional. The cost of fixing a DIY mistake is almost always higher than getting it done right the first time.
Sydney shops use one of three part categories. Understanding the difference saves you money and prevents nasty surprises:
Made by the original manufacturer (Apple/Samsung) or their factory partners. Identical to factory, and more expensive than aftermarket. Some functions (True Tone on iPhone, Face ID full pairing) require genuine parts to remain active.
Made by third-party factories using factory-equivalent components. Quality is excellent — sourced from reputable manufacturers like Tianma, BOE, JDI. Touch sensitivity, brightness, and durability are very close to OEM. Most customers cannot tell the difference. Comes with our 6-month warranty.
Recovered from damaged phones, glass replaced, sold cheap. Often fails within months — touch dead zones, screen flicker, low brightness. Some shops use these to undercut prices. We do not. If you are quoted an unusually cheap price for an iPhone screen replacement in Sydney, this is often what you are getting.
How to get the most life out of your fresh repair:
If anything feels off in the first 6 months, bring the phone back. The repair is under warranty — we sort it.
How long different Sydney repair scenarios actually take in our shop. Plan your visit around these:
| Repair | Typical | Best case | Worst case |
|---|---|---|---|
| iPhone (older) screen replacement | 30–60 min | 20 min | 90 min |
| iPhone Pro / Pro Max screen | 60–120 min | 45 min | 3 hours |
| iPhone battery replacement | 30–45 min | 20 min | 1 hour |
| Samsung A-series screen | 60–90 min | 45 min | 2 hours |
| Samsung S-series screen | 1–2 hours | 1 hour | 3 hours |
| Samsung Ultra screen | 2–3 hours | 90 min | 4 hours |
| Galaxy Z Flip / Z Fold | 3–5 hours | 2 hours (parts ready) | 2 days |
| Charging port replacement | 30–60 min | 20 min (cleaning only) | 2 hours |
| Water damage recovery | 4–8 hours | 2 hours (light damage) | 2–3 days |
| iPad screen / glass | 3–6 hours | 2 hours (older iPad) | 1 day (Pro) |
| Camera module replacement | 1–2 hours | 45 min | 3 hours |
| Speaker / earpiece | 30–60 min | 15 min (cleaning only) | 90 min |
Auburn might seem far if you are coming from the Eastern Suburbs or the North Shore. Customers come to us anyway because the trade-offs work out:
Independent repair is typically much cheaper than out-of-warranty Apple service, and the saving easily covers the train ticket plus lunch in Auburn. For higher-end Pro Max or Z Fold repairs the gap is even larger.
Most mobile repair Sydney customers cannot afford to be without their phone for a week. We finish almost everything same-day. The trip to Auburn is one afternoon — Apple's mail-in service can mean a week of inconvenience.
Auburn station is a 20-minute walk to our shop and trains run from Sydney CBD in 30 minutes. Compare that to driving to Castle Hill for the Genius Bar in traffic — Auburn is genuinely accessible from anywhere on the Sydney train network.
At big chain stores you talk to a sales associate who passes the phone to a technician you never meet. At our Auburn shop, the technician fixing your phone is the person you spoke to when you walked in. If something is unusual, you hear it from them directly.
"I had an absolutely exceptional, fine dining experience at this phone repair shop and although there was nothing to eat, I cannot recommend them highly enough. From the moment I walked in, it was clear this was not just any repair facility. The owner is a long-time Samsung technician."
